FAQs

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Festive Cocktail attire. If you are so inclined, please bring out the colors, the prints, the sparkle and the fun!

Overall, we’re thinking dressy and a little extravagant: no need to follow conventions of restraint. If it’s a little over the top and brings you happiness - go for it! That said, if you are more comfortable in something simple, that is absolutely wonderful too. We want you to be you and feel great.

Speaking of feeling great: New Orleans has a very lassiez-faire relationship with street and sidewalk repair. High platforms and stilettos will likely invite unwanted attention from vengeful footwear gods. We recommend you wear something you can parade and dance in :)

Are children welcome?

We love your kids, but with the exception of a few under 21 family members, we’re asking that you please bring only yourselves. It’s an intimate wedding, and space is genuinely limited.

Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free food options?

Mosquito Supper Club is a shellfish-forward, family style restaurant. We know that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and the chef will happily accommodate food restrictions. Please make sure you share those with us when you RSVP.

What time should I arrive for the Ceremony?

We’ve scheduled a short beer & wine reception at 4pm, before the Ceremony begins at 4:30pm. We encourage you to arrive at 4pm. This is mostly because the ‘aisle’ is the front yard of the restaurant, so if you’re late you may be walking Shelley down the aisle ;)

What will the weather be like?

It’s likely to be in the 70’s and a tad humid. The sun sets early this time of year, so bring a sweater or something light to keep the chill away in the evenings.

Can you tell me more about the Secondline Parade?

The Secondline will be led by a brass band, last about 20 mins and ‘travel’ about 1/3 of a mile before pied-pipering us directly into the Reception Venue/The Chapel Room at the St Vincent Hotel. It’s really part parade, part dance party in the streets and it doesn’t move fast. (We’re really excited to share this tradition with you!).

Please note that we will be offering transportation between venues so that we ALL arrive at the same time & place for the Secondline to begin and keep the party flowing! If you’re traveling between venues on your own let us know, and we’ll share the route so you can dovetail with us.

We have arranged for 2 pedicabs for a few guests we know in advance will prefer to ride along in style vs participate on foot. If you’re feeling like a pedicab is a better choice for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out & we’ll get you covered.

Is there someone I can contact if I have any other questions about the wedding?

Please reach out to Shelley over email or text. Especially if you have questions about the Secondline or the Room Block. Please see the Travel page for more details on accommodations.

We love you all and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
